Description
Gabbeh rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India, mean “raw” in Persian and embody a simple, rustic style. Popular since the 1990s as a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs, they fit well with modern interior design. They are characterised by their thick, luxurious pile, diverse colour palette and bold geometric or animal patterns, often abstract or figurative. Usually made of wool, occasionally cotton or other materials, they range in size from small mats to large rugs, making them suitable for any room in the home.
