Description
Gabbeh rugs, knotted in Iran and India, mean “raw” in Persian and offer a relaxed, folk alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Popular since the early 1990s, they are characterised by thick pile, diverse colours and cool, geometric or animal patterns. Often made of wool, they vary in size from small mats to large rugs and fit well in any room. Gabbehs can feature abstract or figurative designs, often with motifs of animals or people.
