Description
Gabbeh rugs, knotted in Iran and India, mean “raw” in Persian and are simple, rustic rugs. Since the early 1990s, they have become popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. They are characterised by thick, luxurious pile, a wide variety of colours and bold geometric or animal patterns. The designs are often abstract or figurative, frequently depicting animals or people. Usually made of wool, sometimes cotton, they vary in size and fit into any room.
