Gabbeh rugs, knotted in Iran and India, are simple, rustic rugs with a thick, luxurious pile and a variety of colours. Since the early 1990s, they have offered a more relaxed, folk-inspired alternative to traditional Persian rugs. The patterns are often geometric or depict animals and people, either abstract or representational. Gabbeh rugs are mainly made of wool, sometimes cotton or other materials, and are available in various sizes to suit any room in the house.
