Gabbeh rugs, hand-knotted in Iran and India, are simple, rustic rugs described as "raw". Popular since the early 1990s, they offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. With dense pile and a variety of colours, they feature bold geometric or animal patterns, often abstract or figurative with motifs of animals or people. Mostly made of wool, sometimes cotton, they come in a variety of sizes to suit any room.
