Gabbeh rugs, originating in Iran and India, are "raw" in Persian and symbolise simple, rustic rugs. Popular since the early 1990s, they offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. With thick pile, diverse colours and cool geometric or animal patterns, they are usually made of wool, occasionally cotton or other materials. Available in various sizes from small mats to large carpets, they are suitable for any room in the house.
