Gabbeh, Persian for "raw", have been popular rustic rugs since the early 1990s. They offer a more relaxed, folksy alternative to traditional Persian rugs and are characterised by their thick, luxurious pile and a variety of colours. With cool geometric and animal motifs, their patterns can be abstract or representational, often featuring depictions of animals or people. Gabbeh carpets are usually made of wool and range in size from small mats to large carpets, suitable for any room in the house.
