Description
Gabbeh means “raw” in Persian and describes a simple, rustic rug. Since the 1990s, they have been gaining popularity as a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbehs are known for their thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and bold geometric patterns. The designs can be abstract or figurative, often featuring motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, some are also made of cotton or other materials. They range from small mats to large rugs and fit into any room in the house.
