Description
Gabbeh, meaning “raw” in Farsi, refers to simple, rustic rugs. Since the early 1990s, they have become increasingly popular as a more relaxed, folk-inspired alternative to traditional Persian rugs. Gabbeh rugs have a thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold, geometric patterns. These patterns can be abstract or representational, often depicting animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variations made of cotton or other materials. Gabbeh rugs come in a variety of sizes, from small mats to large rugs, and they fit into any room in the house.
