Gabbeh means "raw" in Farsi and refers to simple, rustic carpets. Popular since the early 1990s, they offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbehs have thick, luxurious pile, a wide range of colours and bold geometric patterns. They often feature abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, sometimes cotton, they range in size from small mats to large rugs, suitable for any room in the house.
