Gabbeh, the Farsi word for "raw", refers to rustic carpets. Since the early 1990s, they have gained popularity as a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbeh carpets have thick pile, diverse colours and bold patterns, often with abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. They are made of wool or sometimes cotton and fit into any room in the house.
