Description
Gabbeh means “raw” in Farsi and describes simple, rustic carpets. Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a relaxed, folk alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbeh carpets have a thick pile, diverse colours and bold geometric patterns, often with abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variants made of cotton or other materials. Their size varies from small mats to large carpets and is suitable for any room in the house.
