Description
Gabbeh, which means “raw” in Farsi, refers to simple, rustic carpets. Since the early 1990s, they have become more popular as they offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbeh rugs are characterised by thick pile, diverse colours and bold, geometric patterns that often depict animals or people. They are usually made of wool, occasionally cotton or other materials. Sizes vary from small mats to large rugs that can be used in any room.
