Description
Gabbeh means “raw” in Farsi and refers to a simple, rustic rug. Since the early 1990s, Gabbeh rugs have become increasingly popular as they offer a more relaxed alternative to Persian rugs. They have a thick, luxurious pile, a wide variety of colours and bold, geometric patterns. The designs can be abstract or representational, often depicting animals or people. Gabbeh rugs are usually made of wool, sometimes cotton or other materials, and vary in size from small mats to large rugs that can be used in any room of the house.
