Gabbeh, Farsi for "raw", have been popular since the 1990s due to their relaxed, folk appeal. These rugs offer an alternative to traditional Persian rugs and are characterised by thick pile, a variety of colours and bold patterns, often featuring abstract or representational motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, they are also available in cotton or other materials, in sizes ranging from small mats to large rugs for any room use.
