Description
Gabbeh means “raw” in Farsi and describes rustic carpets. Since the 1990s, they have become more popular as a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. They are characterised by thick pile, diverse colours and bold patterns, often with abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. Gabbeh carpets are usually made of wool, but also of cotton or other materials. They vary in size from small mats to large carpets and fit into any room in the house.
