Gabbeh means "raw" in Farsi and describes rustic rugs that have been gaining popularity since the early 1990s. They offer a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs and are characterised by thick, luxurious pile, diverse colours and bold, geometric patterns. These rugs can feature abstract or representational motifs, often animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also cotton variants. Gabbeh range from small mats to large carpets and fit into any room in the house.
