Description
The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and describes simple, rustic carpets. Since the early 1990s, they have become increasingly popular as they offer a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbeh carpets have a thick, luxurious pile, a wide variety of colours and bold, geometric patterns, often abstract or figurative with depictions of animals or people. They are usually made of wool and vary in size, from small mats to large carpets.
