Gabbeh rugs, which means "raw" in Farsi, are rustic rugs that have been growing in popularity since the early 1990s. They offer a relaxed alternative to traditional Persian rugs and complement a variety of interior designs. Gabbehs have a thick pile, diverse colours and bold geometric patterns, often with abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variants made of cotton and other materials, in sizes ranging from mats to large carpets suitable for any room in the house.
