Description
The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Persian and describes simple, rustic carpets. Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbeh carpets have a thick, luxurious pile, many colours and bold geometric patterns. They often feature abstract or figurative designs with animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variants made of cotton or other materials, in sizes ranging from small mats to large area rugs.
