Description
The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and describes a simple, rustic carpet. Since the 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed, folk alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbeh carpets have a thick pile, many colours and bold geometric patterns, often with abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also cotton variants. Their size varies from small mats to large carpets, suitable for any room.
