Description
The term “Gabbeh” means “raw” in Farsi and describes simple, rustic carpets. Since the early 1990s, they have been popular as a more relaxed, folk-inspired alternative to traditional Persian carpets. Gabbehs have a thick, luxurious pile, a variety of colours and bold geometric patterns, often with abstract or figurative motifs such as animals or people. Mostly made of wool, there are also variants made of cotton or other materials. They range from small mats to large carpets and fit into any room in the house.
